Hanging On the Line

I was young and innocent and I only had eyes for you You were my constant companion the whole day through But you fell into a puddle and mum hurried you away I was oh so sad, I cried and cried so much that day I found you hiding from me, high up on the washing line Pegged up by your ears, but my teddy now looked fine When I look through old photos its plain for all to see ‘Lying on teddy’ you really meant the world to me 21st June 2015 Penned after looking through old photos of me from aged about two My teddy bear was called lying on teddy because I used to lie on him in my sleep and he went from a cuddly round bear to a flat bear

Some memories can really turn the clock back for a minute. I had a stuffed Kitty Cat with a dress on. I still have her in a drawer. She become very flat, too. But the memories of childhood linger every time I open that drawer door.

by the way, I was here around 6:30 yesterday evening when the power went out all over our neighborhood. WE drove around, got a shake. I wrote a poem by flashlight late into the night and we both slept at midnight. What a boring night. hahaha. How I love my tv and internet!!

what a crazy name, Jan. That was sure cute. DO you know I wrote a sonnet on MY teddy bear!! I forget the name of it, but it's here at soup somewhere. the poor thing fell in the toilet. His name was pinky winky. He became stinky winky and mom threw him out. (geeez, she could have washed him up like YOUR mom did) I cried for ages!

It's really amazing when a child adopted its favorite stuffed animal or blanket. My Robert had his until 17 +++then gave it to my grandson when he was born like his brother gave it to him when he was born. He did eventually got him back and is put away someplace. My granddaughter did the same and they would really get very ... upset if you took it from them to be washed. a 7 Hugs Eve

I actually remember crying when I saw my teddy pegged by his ears on the washing line - I can only have been 2 or 3. My son had his stuffed toy called 'blue' we still have him now :-) hugs Jan xx
