Handwriting

etheree

I'm
learning
to take notes
from right to left.
Kind of quirky, huh?
I wanted to find out
why some people find it hard
to conquer cursive handwriting.
And how to make it much easier
by starting all over again myself.

Concentrating on letter formations,
I practice by taking notes at church
and I am getting really good.
The hardest problem being
I can't read what I write
without a mirror.
Just as some kids
find cursive
hard to
read.

My favorite prayer is the Prayer of Saint Francis, and my favorite part of it is where prays that he may seek to understand rather than be understood. Anyway, this is a good example of doing that, and one I wouldn't have thought of trying! Maybe I will do that, too, next Sunday!

A lovely prayer, I was first introduced to at a wedding. It was used as a classic song. Great insight about understanding rather than being understood. Thanks for your lovely interaction with my piece, my quirk.

thanks, it's the teacher in me that hasn't retired yet. In Indiana the debate is on again whether or not to teach cursive. About three years ago, they nixed it, but saw an article in the paper where it is up for grabs again with the state DOE next year.

Thanks, Janice, not sure it's quirky enough; but people at church kind of look sideways at me sometimes. I go to church a lot.

thanks, Vijay, I am a retired elementary public school teacher, still concerned for children who find school a challenge.
