Halloween Fright

On Halloween it was understood We could not leave the neighborhood. Just to be sure I minded Mother, I had to take my little brother. We both were having lots of fun. Treats were abundant, tricks were none. But i thought it would be extremely neat To try the next block on the street. A house lit only with blue lights, Would surely have sugary delights. Forgetting the rules I ran pell-mell, Until my own blood curdling yell, When turning I found my angry mother, Demanding where I'd left my brother.

Oh, how you must have feared what your mother would do, Joyce. I'm sure you must have found your little brother! Whew! Great story that sounds like a true one. Congratulations on a first-place win! Best wishes, Carolyn
