Notes About The Poem

A nod to John Watt for his Sunday Funnies. They gave me the idea when I found these in and old box.

Halloween Fortune Cookies

don't give in to temptation this week anticipation is half the fun
its easy to suffer in silence if they know you are suffering
seek advice for a difficult problem why should you take all the blame
you are blessed with true faithful friends who prefer to remain unnamed
positive thinking is the key to success don't lose weight grow taller
you resent your business and social superiors and so do they
laugh and the world laughs with you smile and they'll really get suspicious
beware before setting out on a new journey where is your passport
you believe no one fully understands you wrong that's not the problem
think twice before expressing an opinion and they'll change the subject

Hi Elizabeth ~ fun one-liners. Love your title. Had you considered double spacing?

Thank you, Andrea. I'm glad you had a laugh. John's Funnies reminded me- Sunday morning, Dad's lap as he read them to us long after I could read myself! Elizabeth

I have never seen so many Monokas gather in one page. And I love the wit of most of them. Brilliant: laugh and the world laughs with you smile and they'll really get suspicious
