Halloween Faces
Witches and goblins are out tonight
with pumpkin smiles and eerie screams.
The cold moon radiates its bright light
to cast shadows of childhood dreams.
Flying bats target black cats
hiding from the witch’s broom.
In dark streets cats chase big rats
scampering near Dracula’s tomb.
Graveyards harbor the scary ghost
lurking among the stones and trees.
Old run-down houses they like to host
with moans and groans to tease.
Werewolves lurk in darkest of night
dwelling in the denseness of wood.
Hoping to find someone to bite
and to eliminate the good.
A cold wind blows the fallen leaves
swirling them in the yard.
A child is one who believes
skeletons on the porch stand guard.
