I've read the other comments, Brian, and it can be interpreted in a romantic manner. However, I felt the passage of summer to fall. Here in Florida we have "lingering heat" well into mid to late November. And since you labeled this a haiku as opposed to a senryu, I'm thinking this is your intent. Very interesting to me how people look at the same poem and see different things. Love, Carolyn
