Thanks for participating in my contest, BW. Still a pretty haiku about the hummingbird, and I was happy to read it. One of the reasons I started this challenge was to maybe get people thinking a little differently about haiku. I used to be a stickler about 5-7-5, until I realized it's not really about the syllable pattern. Rather it is about a poem that can be read in one breath, while containing more thought and impact that what at first seems possible. I've read some as short as 6 syllables!

This is lovely Constance. These sweet little birds are shy, but when they get to know and trust you they will let you become close to them. My mother in law had one who would actually eat from her hand. A lovely entry for the contest!
