Guns

You do not own a gun... that gun owns you; always aware of its whereabouts, and what that gun can do. To be effective, its use must be reflexive, no sympathy for the receiving end.... It is a necessary evil, weighing heavily on the hearts, of law upholders yet god fearing men.

Hi Joe, my husband has always carried a gun, for in case, and when the time was perhaps right to use it, he couldn't we were hijacked in our front garden with a gun to each of our heads jewellery, bags, money shopping, and the gun which was in his bag by his feet. The keys of the car were thrown into the bush as they made their escape. Had we flinched we would be dead. Hi Jennifer; it does no good in a case. It needs to be in immediate reach if necessary. One has to be attuned to his/her surroundings at all times, when in potentially hostile environments, which all American cities have become. You do not let strangers get that close to your car or loved-ones. Do not be totally distracted by tasks, loved ones and friends. Always be warily alert to strangers approaching, and warn them off, to stop cold in their tracks before they are within striking distance, giving you less chance to defend yourself and innocent others. A gun is not a pacifier. A gun owner should learn how to use his weapon for the purpose it was intended, and to teach its lethality and therefore need for respect to everyone in the family. While my wife and children were giggling, having fun, which I encouraged, I was always vigilant, on guard. Half of me with them...and half of me acutely conscious of the ugliness of the world. I never went through life with rosy blinkers on.

What you read in Greece, about American, is highly sanitized (propaganda news). We are no longer a free nation~ in my opinion. Sold out to communism by the very people in power whom we believed and trusted.

I agree with you Joe, but I live in the UK, so probably see things differently to some people in the USA...I know it's a split decision...the thing is its people who kill, not guns... and when one is afraid they like to pull the trigger.

As you do Si, I reside for now in the UK.' A land where guns were Available more in the 1950s there Were no instances of public Shootings' what has changed? In my birth country guns were say Half as available as in the US and From a distance I watched them Vilified and largely taken away The argument was Aussies could Trust their government to protect Their freedoms..I see it was all A charade now.' The people were Abused by a delinquincy in that Same structure.' It would not have Been like that were they still Armed.' I am well aware of Dunblayne but again that man was satanic led.' I know criminals, like to pull the trigger, but most law abiding gun owners in the US, who acquired theirs legally~ it is the last thing they want to do. When only the government is armed, people no longer live in a free society. Too much power concentrated in one source, ultimately leads to totalitarian tyranny. The US is proudly independent. 30,000,000 conservative males will die, rather than be ruled by China and its allies in the our morally declining nation. Just my opinion.
