Growing Up
Growing up we find that head rules the heart,
that we may navigate earth life with care
but from light of love now standing apart,
of soul’s fall from grace, we become aware.
As a child free but now tied to mind’s tree,
with fear stalking, we’re a dead man walking,
for with pulse of love, we do not agree
and find ourself, from path of truth balking.
Growing up we realise we’re not wise
and we soon tire of objects of desire,
therefore ceasing to weigh, measure and size,
in silence we ignite our inner fire.
Taking a u-turn from erst pathways stern,
in the flame of love, we willingly burn.
