Great Neighbours

GREAT NEIGHBOURS

Yesterday as the afternoon was coming to a close
The doorbell rang, it was Vanessa holding a beautiful rose,
For you I have just snipped it,
Still communicate, two metres apart seems fit,
Was touched, Vanessa and Neel’s, best neighbours, it shows!

A simple rose goes a very long way ...I just planted more climbing roses in the garden. Keeps me sane during lockdown. Take care, Kai

I respect Unisa. Standards are lower everywhere; happened in USA after 1960s; happens in post-freedom societies (British India), & rise-&-fall cycles (political) Democracy is not perfect; NT truth does not change. Brava! U show depth of relationship (KOINONIA) with Jesus & believers.U may have started Greek Orthodox? Doesn't matter, U r up there, anyWHICHway

I loved studying, I studied later in life and instead of a normal 4 years to study my degrees took 7 years as I was also a mother and had a business - you know a great many words of faith in Greek, but the Bible does acknowledge them, I admire and respect you. Blessings/Shalom/Eirene! Jennifer.

Hi Anil, an absolute Godincidence - love that it was. Studied Biblical studies as a major and for honors my thesis was the Spirituality of the New Testament at UNISA in Pretoria - but years ago. Shalom and Eirene, Jennifer.

Nice gestures are so much more appreciated these daunting days. Reach out, (but don't) touch someone, as Diana Ross never had to sing! Health and Good Spirits, Jenn! :) Gershon

Hi Sunshine Smile - that is sad because I know how much you wanted to move in - but if it's for the better right now perhaps that's good my dear friend. I see we are both under lock down but I feel safer this way. Look after yourself and your family - you are very precious to them and to poetry soup and to me! Hugs and love, Jenny

It is a fearful cruel virus that has hit us globally - all we can do is pray and be sensible and not panic. It was a lovely gesture but they gave it to me and turned away immediately- be safe Lindsay - you and your family. Blessings my friend, Jennifer.

Yes I know Paul you are quite right but it was quick and they were gone. This cruel virus is galloping at a fast pace across our planet, we must pray and keep our wits about us. Stay safe Paul my friend and your lovely family. Warm regards and hugs, Jenny.

Thank you for a wonderful comment dear friend - roses were my fathers best flower and he planted many in our garden, but when we sold our house and moved to our new one our gardener dug up all the rose trees and still have them now. Be well, be safe and we will chat again soon on poetry soup. Blessings Darlene, Jennifer.

I find that with poetry I can escape the real world for a while, although the virus is always on my mind. Praying is all we can do my friend - be safe always. Thank you for a wonderful comment Mike and for making my poem a fav. I think of the grieving and it breaks my heart. Blessings, Jennifer.
