Great Lessons
To love God* above all is great lesson
That’s to esteem Him with pure heart’s reason
Seeking Him ceaselessly by His very person
As our lives are surrendered to Him every season.
To trust God’s Word is a great principle we cherish
As our faith stands upon the Bible midst philosophies that easily perish
Upheld by His truth mere opinions can’t tarnish
In His confidence He does readily furnish.
To fear the Lord with reverence is our great motto, truly vital
Doing so for wisdom-gaining is fundamental
To keep us from sin that’s perilous and fatal
Moving us to His blessings in their grand total.
To stay in God’s will is our great slogan to remember
For that’s the best choice each of us has as a saved sinner
We should abide in Him, by His mercy, quitting never
Blooming where He planted us in His grace and power.
To flee from worldly influences is our great conviction
Overcoming pride, flesh and vanity’s temptation
As we walk through the Spirit’s confirmation
While in His fellowship we bring to Him our petition.
To follow godly instruction is our great commitment
Obeying His commands gives us sense of fulfillment
Reaching His standards sets our heavenly attainment
Pleasing Him thru our stewardship’s assignment.
To serve God, working with joy makes our great life so exciting
While depending fully on His might that’s uplifting
We strive to be His servants humble for His instructing
Laboring for Him is a great privilege worth appreciating.
*Matthew 22:37 “Jesus said…, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”
