Great Expectations

Let’s talk about the way that life is supposed to be.
The baby’s angelic smile.
The youngsters rosie cheeks.
The crisp white table cloth of afternoon tea.
The Sunday chatter and the pride of the roast for family.
The cricket and the graduations, the fishing and work place harmony.
The white dress in the church for eternity.
Yeah, let’s talk about how life is supposed to be!

Now let’s see through the eyes of reality.
Where children don’t arrive and expectations fail drastically.
Where eyes can’t hide the thoughts behind fake smiles of jealousy.
Where mental battle in the mind remains hidden secretly.
Where the love of family dies because you’re not what you’re supposed to be!
