Graveyard Flowers - Children of Gaza
Graveyard flowers they've become
Their garden; now a graveyard
Their roots almost out
Their small petals ruined
Their nectar still sweet
Their smell bitter sweet;
A mixture of anguish,
courage and hope
Their leaves; carelessly
trodden upon
Yet still - they bloom and blossom
Still beautiful they remain
Graveyard flowers though they are
