Gratitude 1
That was when the time was in thrall to a better light
We had it in us to kid-dance our extra mile
Even as its clay lay about a bit too defeated
Moment for the minute to greet its hour it was
To receive the gift with open arms that did a good turn
As we gratituded our first words with our breath
It happened a while ago witnessed by faith
Which saluted not the trifles insanely indulged
We tip-toed on sloppy bunds wriggling like reptiles
Even as we never ceased to wonder
If love was enough reward when it did not mirror the deed
Did it measure up to its forgotten mind
Time like that spent when lying low again
I am just justing my formal word
Gone with the wind once and blown by the self now
Turning itself into serious art, its unbelievably low price
Pledging the pat caress of perfect thanks
Raw remnants of wounded remembrance whining.
