Grateful for the Remnants

Only God and prayer can heal it: The dreadful wound your loss has made. Find thankfulness and never quit; Embrace what you have left today. When melancholy cords arise Cast dissonance far, far away Let gratefulness revive your eyes; Embrace what you have left today. If you still have someone to love And a place where a bed is made You have more than enough thereof; Embrace what you have left today. If you have friends that never left Someone to help you on your way Thank God of these you’re not bereft Embrace what you have left today. If pain can cease for a moment Use the time to earnestly pray Too many tears spent in lament Embrace what you have left today.
