Grandpa
Quiet again,
As he sat and pondered.
His memories remained,
As his mind always wandered.
His aching heart,
He could not show.
His thoughts went to her,
His pain would grow.
The silence grew,
As the long days went by.
He turned to see,
She was drawing him nigh.
He stood, he stretched,
Gave one big yawn.
His time, he knew,
Had come by dawn.
Together in Heaven,
They shall forever remain.
No longer to be,
In insurmountable pain.

This poem is dedicated to my grandfather. In heaven now with my grandmother. I loved them both dearly.
