Grandmother's Hand

I saw a picture just once a long time ago I don't know the artist's name or from where he came But the image I'll never forget, that much I know I hope its beauty to you I can explain A small child's hand reached up so round and small Bashfully grasping from seemingly no where at all Towards what appeared to be his grandmother's hand Weather worn and wrinkled hanging down Tattered clothing and swollen knuckles, calloused palms Yet still reaching Reaching to guide and help yet another young life Who still needed her strength Their fingertips touching, left me wondering Would she live long enough for him to grab hold? ©Donna Jones 2-25-2013

I can clearly see that the picture affected you deeply. There is just something so special about seeing one so young and one so old, grasping each other's hands. Wonderful work!

What a nice thing to read about whom is one of the most important persons in our lives, Grandmother. Didn't she pray for us all, didn't she pray for our President and people in high power, and for the sick and lonely? Mi Grandma did I know she still watches over me this every day. It is Grandma's Prayer, whatever would we be had we never had it? I think the hands surely met. You did very good. Ronnie

I agree..I believe my grandmother's prayers on my mother's side were very special indeed. Powerful even. And although with our creator now, I still feel her presence... you are kind to stop by.

Great one for the contest..I hope that the grandmother lived long enough to see the rewards of nuturing the child and that the child used the nuturing by the grandmother to the best possible use..Reads like a winner to me..Sara
