Grandmother's Blanket

"Now" she's eating her cheerios, one-by-one 
She sits in a three ring circle with her friends 
Warmth, she is, by the rays of the morning's sun 
Her hair in ponytails all curled with loose ends

Grandmother's knitted blanket rests on the chair

Playing, real life, with her friends (two) "Teddy Bear"

She made it for her granddaughter, years ago 
Playing, real life, with her friends (two) "Teddy Bear" 
Grandma's knitted blanket- one day...she will know

He says Thank you and he takes it to my coffee table. He too will eat them one by one within an hour while he plays. Then I thought of my grandma that I loved dearly as I too own and cherish.
