Grandmother

Oh Dear One-
I see you smiling from Heaven
where he took you, for all eternity.
The night he came he said to me-
"Beloved Granddaughter, she is now mine,
you had your time...
remember it always.
Do not shed a tear for her or me,
you see... we will now together
forever be."
Immortal Beloved- do you remember
on that last day?
Devoid of all around but you-
were you listening?
Did you hear, in that medicinal haze,
did you hear me say
"I love you, now, forever, and always before"?
When I held you tight and felt you leaving,
I was crushed, hardly breathing...
yet I cried...
All the time believing
You were here for me, for us...
Go Immortal Beloved- he has waited long
The tear I now shed is of joy
You are now where you belong...
I Love You,
Our memories are your song.

2nd place in the "I Dreamed" contest
