Grandmas Rainbow Message To Me

When my grandmother’s soul left it was April I was twelve; knowing she was no longer here ruined supper. The phone call came during dessert - butterscotch pie. I actually stopped eating it, and it was my favorite. I had never before seen my mother scream or faint or cry. It was weird when my grandmother left us, alone on this planet. The day of her funeral I asked her to let me know she had arrived. She did around supper time in the form of a rainbow. I have never forgotten this.
