Grandma's Prediction

Grandma sat in her rocker braiding her hair Reciting Bible verses she had learned I remember well the squeaking of the chair Her words to me, I so resoundingly spurned. She said, “You, son, you our minister will be, Do not laugh, boy, for you will most surely see.” True to her form the declaration came true In spite of how much I wanted it not to. written September 10, 2021

Now that I have read this and the comments, I have to ask. Do you write SONGS? And do you post them?

I've written one song in my life, which was a song to celebrate a 100th anniversary. I sold the rights to it to the Baptist Association of Virginia. Nope, not really my speciality. I'm an organist/pianist and choir director. Don't play that often these days.

It seems children today have no interest at all in making parents or grandparents proud of them or living up to expectations. Is that progress?

Certainly in my way of thinking, I think not! Thanks for your thoughtful comment on my poem, Rico.

Nope, Tom. I retired from the active ministry about twenty years ago. Spent the last ten years as a minister of music. Thanks for your inquiry.
