Grandma's Love

We say that fathers know best. Against that, I pose no protest. But mother knew better about love. And Grandma's love was the BEST by far. As a child, I did not question family love. Everyone was busy 'doing', not 'feeling' love. Love was 'in action', not mere 'emotion on display'. Let there be no contention about who loves the most. Let there be an understanding about how we 'receive' love. I never thought much about whether daddy said, "I love you". Had daddy said it, perhaps I would be better for hearing it. But who's to say? I don't know. I only know that 'I was loved'. Grandma's love left NO questions and filled in ALL the blanks. Her love gave a positive charge to EVERY sensory nerve in my being. 081922PSCtest, The Meaning of Love, Anoucheka Gangabissoon.3P

It sounds like grandma adored you and the feeling was mutual. I often wish I had known a grandmother’s love. Both of mine died before I was born. You were very fortunate. A lovely tribute for your grandmother. Congratulations on your wonderful win. Blessings xxoo

Hi, Connie. Indeed, I was most fortunate. As I look back, I feel certain that she was a bridge for future 'troubled waters'. Thanks For your comments.

Dear Curtis, your tender poem is so beautifully expressed. "Love was 'in action', not mere 'emotion on display'." - such a splendid verse! I enjoyed the contented, emotional spirit of this piece, especially your last amazing couplet. Best wishes for a win and warmest wishes for you.. ~Susan (Soup mail)
