Grandma's Kitchen
Wood burning
In a Franklin stove-
The smell of yeast
And rising dough-
Lace curtains
Fluttering-
In an open window
Where soft
Ocean breezes blow-
With the scent of
The wild rose-
Pastel rainbows
Dancing
On the walls-
Reflections made
Where sunbeams
Fall-
Upon a crystal vase
Where lilacs bloom-
And fill the room-
With lavender
Perfume-
Heaven!
Here on earth-
But a thought away-
In a place where love
Was made-
In that old house
In grandma’s kitchen-
High above
