The Quilts that so many Grandma's made are indeed works of art. Good luck in Sami's contest >> James

Hi Carolyn, As I may have told you, my great-grandma's quilts hold special memories to me, too. I remember as a young child running from my grandmother's work room gathering fabric scraps left over from her business projects and taking them to her mother who sat in a chair making quilts entirely by hand. When I grew up, I was amazed that she had included one BRIGHT ORANGE square in the middle of an otherwise pastel design...to the delight of a young girl...me! SMILES. Nice poem. Love --

I have a quilt very much like this....made by my Grandmother. Aren't they the most wonderful treasures to keep...filled with a wealth of history...stories about each piece of fabric.... A lovely entry to the contest! ~ love, Carrie

Yes this quilt must have been an artwork of its own, Carolyn! I still have a crochet quilt from my mom. Each patch should tell you another history! Loved to read this write and thank you for your kind comments...Love, Gert
