Gothic Vampire- Hunter

Hunter of duskfall prowls with sensation The craving of thirst awakens mortal lure Enchanted by taste of flesh, a night’s potion His shadow rises upon needs impure. Enticing one prey, he offers sinful blessing To consume blood’s feast, the sweetness of nectar Another creature now part of the Hunter’s ring; Both enshrined by moonlight’s conniving star. Consumed by earthy hunger, fangs devour As seasons feed on eternity’s quest, Not knowing the woman of morning hour Or sunrise’s flavor, gently possessed. He wanders again scouring for luscious bite Transcending centuries gothic and old Slow lament of own death, a rabid plight Enough! His knifed heart spurts, his wish bestowed. I really loved this poem, Nette! It is romantic and gothic, and sad. I can feel the pain of immortality from the vampire's point of view. An excellent poem for this contest! I wish you the best of luck!...Thank you for the wonderful comments on my latest poem! I appreciate it very much!

It's dark, intense and gothic. This flows with shades of seduction and rhymes with perfection. Love how it ended; who wants to live for centuries?... Bright poem!

Refreshing throwback to the worn-out vampire tale. I like this old-world feel and a vampire's wish to end his term of eternity. You did the impossible! Thank you also for the award in your contest.
