Goodnight, My Child

Be calm, my darling, be settled I'm not going to hurt you at all Rest your eyes, rest your head Let the troubles of the black world fall I love you, my darling, be rested I'll stroke your flowing hair You know I sing this lullaby To show you that I care Hush, my darling, be silent Listen to the song of my heart The undying love I have for you shall never be broken apart Be brave, my darling, be comforted there is no weakness in strength Comfort is the nicest thing to give So I bestow it upon you at any length Be calm, my darling, I love you I've told you this once before Now that you're asleep, my dear I'll tiptoe out and close the door
