Goodbye Prospectus
Take your spades to cracking
my ribs and plunging
hands in the tar
to find the prize
I stowed
to forget,
so I kept beat.
My eyes'll roll
and I can't direct.
I beg my soul to rebirth
it's trust
for you
for me
for a future.
All the wires
frazzled and unkempt
to tire,
when my nucleus remembers peace.
I have to finish
but that is all I have.
The waste I put on being whole
is a double negative.
You cannot live
without thought,
without body,
without emotion.
So it is set in tar for tomb
that you should respect
to rest in pieces.
In a reflection I see you blessed
and I cannot take
away.
If I must die in a fire-
burn out my convictions
and bring me the world
when I am gone.
I will not spill
this creature
to manageable weight of survival.
He is mine,
I am his.
I must defeat
the monster
without defeating
you.
