Goodbye My Love

Coming home, there was a letter on the table. It read, " I'm sorry to end it this way. It hurts me that I wasn't able. To look into your eyes and walk away." Holding your letter, my hands began trembling. My thoughts overwhelmed my broken heart. The vows we took I was remembering. As my tears poured out, wondering where you are. I know I wasn't the perfect husband, but I loved you more than you'll ever know. Never thinking our love would ever end, and you'd leave me here with no one to hold. I looked and saw our wedding Photo. This farm and you are all I had. I pray this heart of mine can let go, of all the pain stirring inside my head. The heartfelt letters I sent each night. Were desperate words, to make things right. Your love you wrote had somehow died. To read your words, so have I. Your love you wrote had somehow died. To read your words, so have I. Thanking our Lovely Lin Lane for her invaluable help and advice. With this Poem...

Your poem captures the complex emotions of love, loss, and the struggle to let go. The vulnerability and sense of hopelessness are powerfully conveyed through imagery, repetition, and the gradual realization that the relationship, and a part of themselves, has come to an irreversible end. The heartfelt lines invite empathy and offer a glimpse into the painful process of accepting that love can sometimes fade, leaving behind only the echoes of what was once shared.

Hi Michael, Sometimes we feel like writing a real sad love story with a sob, sob ending, I have also written several sad poems but what can I say, I'm proud to mention we have a poem with the exact same title - Goodbye my love - mine is a very different story however and written a couple of years ago. Hope things work out exactly as you want them to with Maria. Blessings my friend, Jennifer

Lin Lane is a great poet. You story is so sad. Leaving without a serious talk is so cruel. We must learn that it takes two to tango. Great poem though.

Dear Michael. You wrote another touching poem. I also am sorry for what you went through. Isn’t poetry a release of our deepest emotions.

Dear Michael, how heart wrenching and sad. I felt every single word of the heartbreaking exploration of lost love and the pain of unexpected separation. I felt the raw emotion you captured, which is deeply moving and relatable. I counsel and pray for my clients in these situations. Agghhh! Spring Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Tom I rewrote it I hope you like this what I consider a better version. I wanted to have the story told better in words instead of just rhyming. I'm still running it. You know when your writing and you might get a better idea to re write the verse. That is me constant changing to make it better. I appreciate you coming back to read hope it wasn't disappointing the changes I made. I am still working it out. I want this to possibly be a song. Thank you my friend for your support.
