He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
John 15:2 NIV

Thank you Christ
For you created a way
That we might be grafted
Into the living tree
Mold and prune me
Unto the being you died for
All my limbs that grow away
From the light in the wrong direction
Cut off to discard for nothing good
Would come from it
Just let me be a small branch in the living tree
Being feed from the living water
That will create a fruit that is good
To reflect the guidance of the caretakers
Hard work, tears and continuous support.
For Him to see the joy and happiness in His creation
The fruit that comes from His tree of life.

So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
Galatians 5:16?-?25 NIV

Hi Stephan, You poems are food for the spirit. They are not just poems, they bring life to one's spirit and soul-stirring and life-changing as well. I seek to bear the kind of fruit that Father prunes for his glory. The scriptures you chose work so well with your poem. Thanks for penning such a write-Alexis

"Cut off to discard for nothing good Would come from it/ Just let me be a small branch in the living tree" What a lovely thought and prayer. Pruning causes pain and loss. But eventually it will lead to profuse growth and greater yield. Enjoyed this highly meaningful poem of great symbolic significance.

Then God plants the Garden of Eden, a beautiful paradise for the man and woman to enjoy. God places the tree of life in the middle of the garden. Eternal Life! A profound verse, Stephen. Enjoyed~Anaya
