Good For Nothing

Being proud of yourself isn’t enough,
When your loved ones don’t think so.
Thinking you’re tough and strong,
Yet you can’t handle the pain you know.

Every time life starts getting rough,
You bury yourself deep and low.
I try to do things right each time,
But feel handcuffed by winds that blow.

It’s freezing out here, and I’ve nowhere to go,
The cold wind steals the warmth I hold.
And once it’s over, I’m back again—
Good for nothing, with nothing to show.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Nikita, Many places to find your way home. I hope your words find a warm place to call your own, right here, away from the wind and cold. -Richard
