Goethe's Path

Today I have the wish to wander. Down Goethe’s path I choose to go with a world of thought to ponder. Where I might end up - I do not know. I meander with a little stream. All around me, myriads of trees stand like seers; serene and sage they seem. The stream’s sweet murmur carries on the breeze. Something fresh! A rumble I can hear. This rumble has a soothing quality; my prior musings start to disappear. The source of this new sound I have to see! Goethe’s path has led me to a secret place. Clear water is cascading into a lake. There is no world of thought when facing grace. Embracing bliss, I have a plunge to take~ For the Create Life Poetry Contest

I have a friend Des McAnuff who would love this poem. He directed Tommy and Jersey Boys on broadway. He has done Faust several times and most recently the opera. Just an excellent write.

Andrea, I like the way you neatly brought this "world of thought" full circle. I hope the water wasn't too cold.

So romantic. I'm not familiar with Goethe's philosophy. Your poem, however, is relaxing and dreamy. Sorry. That's the best I can do. Love, daver

If every path we took in life ended in the water. We'd certainly be looked upon with foolishness and fauder. Just having fun with rhyme Andrea. This is a lovely journey down Goethe's path. Peace. :)

What a fantastic path you have taken with your words. Being absorbed into nature's grace and beauty and leaving all thoughts behind.
