God Walks Warmly Alongside Death Dedicated -

How did I come into existence...
Like a tear resurrected from tragedy
into cool lucidity...

I remember the smooth bone of your face
emerging from the virgin blackness
of raw Time...
And I recall the flesh of your face
in the heavy pulse of Life begining,
yours was the first death ever,
and in your naked eyes
I saw the distance of Forever...

Do you know what you are...
I am your first act of Independence...
You are a state of Being...
Some would say I'm an Angel,
others, that I am a killer...
You are neither,
you are the shadow of a flame
entrancing Love eternal...

Why did you cease the Immaculate Nothing...
You were born from original desire,
the moment I decided to live
was the very moment I had to die,
you were unleashed from my psyche
like a ghost on fire so that I could die
and thus become diversified immortality...
You need me to live
like Youth needs age for wisdom...
Your inception is a trustworthy honesty
unlost in Life's cost...
More people believe in me as Death
than those whom believe in you as God...
That's fine,
for we are one and the same my ancient friend,
Life is a death sentence
with an opportunity to live inbetween...

Your words walk the line between eternity and flame. This feels less like a poem and more like a sacred dialogue--timeless, intimate, and unsettling in its honesty. You’ve personified Death with such reverence, such humanity, that I found myself listening as if to an old friend speaking from the dark. That final line will haunt me--in the best kind of way. Thank you for continuing to share pieces like this… they linger.

It's interesting how we define the great ancient craft of Poetry Alesia. It is also fascinating how we define Life, Death, Love, Success, Growth, Morality, even God. Your sincere feeling and reflections are very meaningful to me Poetess, I respect your work, your heart. I believe you are a Natural Poet. A sacred dialogue, that's beautiful...J.A.B

“ yours was the first death ever, and in your naked eyes I saw the distance of Forever... ” <3! The tension between existence and oblivion saturates this work of art, Justin. Breathtaking words… I’ve read this again and again, an eternal pull. Always, Laura

What is Life if not an eternal heartbeat of desire's dreams Laura...your recent poem, Morning Hawk is profoundly beautiful. It parallels the spirit of this poem brilliantly. I love being mind to mind with you Poetess...Justin
