God is our answer,
On the Mediterranean,
When the sky darkens
On Palmyra or Cordoba,
When doubt sets in
On the ancient capitals,
God is our answer
When doubt sets in
On the stupid town,
On the country roads,
When the fruits rot
Waiting too long for our lips,
God is our answer,
When the books are burned,
Like straw or paper,
When the rose smells good
In the flower garden,
When the vine is precious,
