God Has Been Good

God's Been Good Yes, I realize for many He has no place. But we pray for those to find His grace. To stop adoring their human face. So much in good in life to do! To tutor, to visit the ill. And stop thinking as poets we are kings and queens of the hill. There are those in nursing homes, who might like a visit or two. Or soldiers who sacrificed their bodies that are injured, for you! Maybe our neighbor down the street, the widow, lonely she sits. Alas, we are obsessed with our poetic mindset? Your parchment and pen, will not go away, If, from a few feet of your desk stray. "And if you do good to those who only do good to you, what credit is that? Even sinners do the same!" Why do we comment to only those who comment to us? Why not jump into the Soup, full force? Realizing God is our source? October 5, 2023

- We live in a cocoon that a caterpillar spins around itself... protect ourselves... don't know our nearest neighbor... don't talk to people we don't know... a cold and lonely world. Pangie - I have worked with elderly and sick people all my adult life - (But, I like to read the poems of those who read mine ... a friendly thing to do ) - hugs

Yes do read poems of those who read you. There are many ignored here. And would we write if there were none! I do. Working with the elderly gives you compassion. And I agree, we don’t know many people. People act as if they have no time….I don’t understand that. They are retired, lol. Pangie

Yes, we must look for opportunities! :) It was a blessing for the times I went to the nursing home with a group to read the bible, even to those with memory loss. God bless you!

I found times at the nursing homes inspired me?.. More a gift to me than them. Yes, they do love the Bible. And they enjoy the interchange with another Zhuman being,I encoourage those who never did it. To give it a go. Giving beats receiving Thanks Kim, Panagiota

"So much in good in life to do!" -- we should keep alert for any opportunity, to help and bless others. Our duty as Christians and as citizens of this great nation.

Hi Prince~Any person, can do good. Regardless of religious or no religious affilation. There are many faiths represented at the Soup. I was speaking of God, generically. Squirrels get more honor here, or the wind! I was just expressing how I feel….” Do good to others”. I am Proud you had the chutzpah to respond. Good for you. Thank you. Panagiota

I regularly go to a nursing home in Connecticut. At least twice a week. To walk in there is pure heartfelt. But I enjoy going there regardless. As being new here on soup, I also enjoy reading and commenting on anyone whom I admire, love, or inspire by. And also just because I really enjoy all of you beautiful poets work of arts. Thank you girly, hugs :)

Fin! How I admire your contribution to humanity. Glad you let me know of this, i ounce was part of the Holiday Hospital Prohect. Especially on holidays we’d visit, sing and spend time with those in nursing homes. It’s heart wrenching to see the elderly…so lonely, we need thousands like you , Fin! You are a welcome new addition ti this poetic community. You’re welcome and here and thank you very much. Hugs, Pangie
