I remember when my son after injured at birth, was life flighted to Oakland Children Hospital in California. I believe the prayers that were sent up was not just for the healing needed to save his life right then, but that would save him each time he was bullied in school and could not defend himself, when made fun of at work, and could not defend himself, nor would he let his parents defend him, and when quietly poked fun at by family members. Yes it was done at childhood; but he was not a tattler... or at least that’s what he thought he would be if he told someone. While all of this chipped away at him having a childhood he could look back on with good memories, there were things now being faced as an young man and young adult, that would leave the average person internally scarred for life. And though he didn’t get through those years completely unscathed; and suffers from Social Anxiety Disorder, I’m proud of him for becoming a college student and getting an AS Degree in Internet Marketing. He continues to make small strides, and he gives God the glory for bringing him through thus far. There was much more at times as in this poem... my heart wants my pen to say. Yet, the harness of respect for him would only share just a hint of why I think so highly of him. Thank you all those who favored this poem.
GOD BLESS YOU SON
For all of what you have been through,
withstanding all life has hurled at you.
The strength that you had to endure,
Your faith in God kept your heart pure.
At schools, at work, with family too,
Like Christ said, “Thou sayest,” you said it too.
That is why you’re loved by God's own heart,
though the way was hard, you did not depart.
You are the Apple of God’s Eye,
For Him you stood, did not denied.
My prayer for you my son today,
With reward for more than I can say.
Like Kinsugi mended by the finest gold,
Your story in heaven proudly told.
Forever Mom
