God Adorns the Humble With Salvation - Psalm 149: 1-9
Praise the Lord! Sing to Him a new song
only the godly can do this fully right
rejoice evermore in your great king
feast on His beauty such a beautiful sight
Be always ever with a heavenly vision
even in your beds be full of joy
fill your throat with high praise
handle the divine sword set to employ
So then God's judgment be cast
bringing vengeance on the nations
the people then to be punished
execute them to the proper occasion
The Lord always shows love to His own
His personal pleasure brings this about
humility shown on His own elect
casting His praise with a mighty shout
God's gift of salvation to the humble
a certain trait of the Lord's redeemed
His saved company knows in their heart
God's adornment is eternally beamed
(Praise the Lord!
Sing to the Lord a new song,
his praise in the assembly of the godly!
Let Israel be glad in his Maker;
let the children of Zion rejoice in their King!
Let them praise his name with dancing,
making melody to him with tambourine and lyre!
For the Lord takes pleasure in his people;
he adorns the humble with salvation.
Let the godly exult in glory;
let them sing for joy on their beds.
Let the high praises of God be in their throats
and two-edged swords in their hands,
to execute vengeance on the nations
and punishments on the peoples,
to bind their kings with chains
and their nobles with fetters of iron,
to execute on them the judgment written!
This is honor for all his godly ones.
Praise the Lord!)
