Gnawing Resentment

He gnawed on his resentment
In public and alone
Like a dog he kept on worrying
The marrow from the bone
Till he gave himself an ulcer
Till his teeth got small and stumpy
Till other dogs said, Hang on, Fang
You’re starting to look grumpy
He wouldn’t leave the thing alone
Just wouldn’t let it lie
Time to put the bone down, Fido
Go on, try

Thank you, Rick. I confess that this one was written with mischievous intent. Resentment causes so many problems, mainly to the person who is experiencing it. Not a healthy feeling to hold on to. All the best to you.

That was funny, and just human enough to be easily relatable, Your words where enchanting and you pulled off a great bit of poetry. Emile.

Thank you, Emile, I am so glad you enjoyed my poem. I've learned a bit of a lesson with this one in that I very nearly caused some trouble with it...All the best to you and thank you for commenting x
