Giving Up

Be honest
this isn't going anywhere
you've tried
I've tried
we've given it everything we've got.

If we had the answer
at our fingertips
I'm sure you would agree
things would be so different.

but no

we just keep going
round and round
our frustration turns
to bitterness.

Stop now

Let's call it a day
I think that would be best
if we both admitted
that we'll never find the start
on this roll of sticky tape.

Wow! I love the twist. At first I thought it was about a bad relationship, not a frustrating experience with a roll of tape. When I reached the poem's end, I had to smile.

Oh no, there's nothing worse than a twist in a roll of sticky tape :) Thanks for popping by, ELizabeth. Viv x

Yes, I tried to give the poem a touch of Ingmar Bergman direction, a bit of glppm. Sneaky, eh? Thanks, BW. Viv x

I started with some tears building up and ended with a big smile. This is clever! I enjoyed!

Never a problem for you, Jan, because you're a woman. And you have great nails. Viv x

I agree, wholeheartedly, Jan, but there are mean, evil, nasty, dirty, devious souls out there that DON'T. I think it should be a felony. Of course, I have been known to be a little harsh.....
