Give Peace a Chance

Let us travel back in time
To give peace a chance
Let us go back to the time
When there were no fights 
When there were no battles
When there was no war

When we were scattered
Across the entire globe
There was little contact
Which brought about peace

There were no tribes or races
No religions or faith
There were no countries
Or political boundaries
 
There were no ethnic groups
Or communities or societies 
Or castes or outcasts
Or creed or colour
Or greed or ego 

There were no flags or emblems
Or political groups
Or religious denominations
That divided people
And motivated them
To take up arms against one another

Let us bring back 
Those peaceful days once again
By working for unity
For freedom, for equality 
For brotherhood

Because, anything that divides
Is a no-no for peace
And anything that glues
Us together is tonic for peace
Let us give peace a chance
By rising above petty considerations

Let us prove to the world 
That we can address our differences
And be humane in all that we do
Let us transform into noble souls 
Let us give peace a chance
