Give Me a Sign

Give me a sign I was a soldier of war, the killing haunts me every day... I don't want to fight no more, hope God, will hear me when I pray I've got water to my neck, but, all I can do is splash around... My life is in distress, and I feel, like I'm gonna drown... so please... Chorus If you exist God, give me a sign can you hear me? If you exist God, give me a sign do you hear me? Been living on the streets, seen some things... I can't un-see Been tangled in the sheets, trying hard to get myself free... Been living on the edge, screaming without a sound... I'm standing on this ledge, trying hard not to look down... Chorus If you exist God, give me a sign can you hear me? If you exist God, give me a sign do you hear me? I've got visions of violence, running barefoot...in the rain... Disillusioned in silence, there's a scarecrow in my brain, so.. help me please! Chorus If you exist God, give me a sign can you hear me? If you exist God, give me a sign do you hear me? repeat chorus I've been living on the edge, screaming hard without... a sound... Your story/song here John empathises strongly with a returned soldier's PTSD and his/her personal questions facing Life and God. It is very sad that such strong, courageous men and women who serve in our armed forces to fight to protect people who are also suffering the emotional and physical destruction of their home, bodies and souls in their own countries - face the same crisis of emotional turmoil, mentally and physically on their 'safe' return home. Strong, powerful song John. Leanne

Thanks Leanne, there are so many social ills today, that I could have resource material for daily postings, but I know most don't care for songs with a social message, most want a sterilized version of reality not to burst their bubble, glad you are not one of them, thanks for your kind words!!

Oh I really like this, John. It's right in line with your own contest theme! and like July Morning says below here, from another's perspective. You expressed this other voice very well.
