Gifts of Reflection

The Angels have come
to take me away
The only hug I can give
are the words I write today
In my shaking hand
They've placed a golden pen
So I ponder my past
my here now and then

What words of wisdom
do I have to impart?
At this final moment
I wish to express my whole heart
When you find your soul is aching
and you're far from okay
One gift I can offer
is to learn how to pray
For nothing is as bad
as often it seems
Although life has tearful moments
you must cling to your dreams

Cry when you need to
don't keep emotions trapped inside
Happiness needs growing space
It's blocked by what we hide
Let tears cleanse your spirit
loss and love makes you whole
Don't avoid your sadness
it strengthens the soul

Nothing is forever
so take many chances
Each stage in your life
is a collection of dances
Breathe in every moment
give more than you get
For when your Angels come
you won’t have any regret

I agree w/FJ ... words can't aptly express how your poems kindle kinetic emotions of quantum bliss, Richard. You have such a transcendent spirit, as oft revealed in your illuminating ink. Such a beautiful, prismatic poem, my dear friend. Love and more love always.

Sometimes I know saying "your poem is amazing" falls very short of how I really feel, there just aren't words to express sometimes. You, Richard Lamoureux, have a true and deep talent. I am very sorry I was not on in time to join your contest.

There is so much truth within. "learn how to pray" I completely agree my dear friend. The end holds me so close. "When your Angels come, you won’t have any regret" Your thoughts caress gently around my heart. I wish to place this in my favorites. Hugs, Brandy

Beautiful words of wisdom! Your poem reminds me of the song "I Hope You Dance", a wonderful reminder to live life to the fullest, and I love the third stanza about crying. It's so important to teach our kids that they shouldn't be ashamed to cry, especially our boys who are often taught they should be tough. Thanks for sharing. Blessings, Rhonda xx
