A mole was looking out for worms by digging underground Suddenly the soil ran out and he was digging sand Then all at once his ears picked up a scared whimpering sound And when he saw two eyeballs he said do you need a hand The eyeballs blinked and then its beak let out a little sigh It said there is a man from who I hid for I can’t fly The mole said stop your snivelling, you have to be ‘The Guy’ And yet your head is underground, your bum‘s up in the sky So take your head out of the sand and get out of my lair The ostrich said the man is setting lots of traps up there The mole just laughed and chided him, don’t mess your underwear He won’t be hunting ostriches so you don’t need to care The ostrich grizzled please make sure that he’s not coming back The mole said look fear in the eye when it lands in your lap I’m gonna go another way so please don’t trip a trap And when his foot trod on a flap his final word was ‘CR...!’

One fine story and the illustration is perfect, Terry. Are you telling me the PS censor would have asterisked crap???

On this occasion, Milt, no deference to the censors. Just an illustration of the rapid pace of a triggered mole trap. In truth I doubt Mr Mole would even have got the ‘CR’ out Glad you enjoyed. Terry

Well, Gershon, the thing is, I wanted to keep this poem brief. What the mole was going to say was, ‘Crumbs, I have the distinct impression that I may, perchance, have activated a highly sensitive pest control device. Well, if this is to be my final moment, so be it. I bid thee farewell, fair world... it’s been a blast.’............Unfortunately, that didn’t rhyme. ;-) Terry
