So while out walking the dogs, passing the church, my usual route, I suddenly thought how many people are buried there, a great many it looks like, I wonder if they rise and party at night when no-one is around? Crazy thought but that's just me. So I wrote this silly-ish but head-burrowing poem. I put it as a light verse due to its craziness but it's deep and dark. Can you have a dark light verse? Even that's crazy!

steering blatant revelries, ghouls engaged to death chomping down streetlight openings in bitter stone bow walled yew tree drifters, steps of many feet in shallow parade to pew, the kneel cushion's betrayal - how the shadowless crave… and the headless sing

you're a master at creating intriguing poems. The last line grabbed me...the headless sing. That would be creepy. Don't we have headless (mindless) folks all around us singing their own praises...living within the shadow of themselves...okay rambling. I think dark light verse should be a category. Have a pleasant evening, Sara

Yes pity I didn't have it written in time for Halloween, thanks for reading

Headless sing, that would be quiet a sight to witness if ever, what a creative and imaginative write this is . I love your wordplay that fits the theme that you’ve gone for too. Especially “ steering blatant revelries, ghouls engaged to death“ and “ cushion's betrayal“ deep. Pleasure reading this. Sending you light always

Yes, I thought headless and shadowless would be good metaphors for the dead. Thank you for your kind words, very much appreciated.
