Things like that pull at our heart strings, Jan. Both the senryu and the footnote combine to evoke touching emotions. Hugs // paul

Hi Jan: I enjoyed the simplicity of your poem. I love funeral send offs. I told my eldest daughter to post my Vikings Funeral poem at my wake and to toss my ashes in an ocean.

I was so choked up seeing this little teddy peeping from the flowers. Hubby and I are to be scattered and I don't want any flowers ... if they cant buy me them when I'm alive they are no use to me when I'm dead!:-) hugs Jan xx

Sad but sweet inspiration for this senryu, Jan. (typo on your word for shocked; or did you mean choked?)

I have just got back it was great fun and lovely to be back on stage again - i did 2 poems then someone in the audience asked me if I was reciting my sticky toffee poem as his friend had told him about it! I had to recite it to him later as I has already done my 'spot' :-) hugs Jan xx

He must have been the kind of grandfather that every child should have. Well done, Jan.

He was 2 weeks short of his 96th birthday when cancer took him Lin. We had a blast at his wake and I am writing another poem based on stories his family told us:-)One of his daughters is a very talented artist and a picture of her dad hung in the lounge - we toasted him with champagne it was a very special moment seeing him as she had captured him perfectly:-) hugs jan xx

Lovely Senryu, Jan. Made me tearful just reading it. Young children see things in ways we lost long ago. // Barry

I had tears seeing the coffin with the flowers and bear - my hubby hadn't seen the bear at all . I found it so touching that young children would think of something so special:-) hugs Jan xx
