Funeral

This fated day has come
with open arms instead of fear.
Don’t bring a sad voice of sorrow
to my grave or shed a tear.

I don’t ever want to hear
a sniffle or a tear drop.
It doesn’t change the fact
that your flowers lay on top.

This isn’t the end
of us being together;
just a pause in time until
a change in the weather.

When you will join me
on a distinct level or plain.
To start a new beginning
different but the same.

I’m here with you now
looking out and over you.
To make sure to spread your love
when you think of Mindy Sue.
