Fun With a Gun

A sexy high-powered firearm
Assault rifle—an owners charm
By banning this thrill
It'd stop a fun kill
But other guns still can do harm

Author's note: I've met several people who own these weapons and love shooting them. Would they be willing to give up this privilege (and restrict their shooting to standard street guns) in order to make the rest of us and our schools a bit safer? I get that it would constitute a huge sacrifice on their part. OMG—the horror!

What makes it more sickening, is the owner of a rifle who thinks he is now sexy, especially when he is holding an assault rifle, and using it to kill innocent people, even children. What has humanity been reduced to. Feel so terribly sad that people like these monsters exist - hence my 2nd comment. I suspect Manu of the people who commit these murders suffer from untreated or mistreated mental illness. A society like that does not do well with guns all over the place.

Jennifer Proxenos November 6, 2022 at 1:28 AM The shooting where 19 young children died, shot down and killed by a mad young man has horrified the world. the strange thing is how did he get past security. The little girl who pretended to be dead as she lay between and on top of her dead friends in her class will be traumatized all her life by these scenes. Yes i know there are criminals around, and we have to protect ourselves, but before any gun is sold, a serious background check on the customer shou ld be carried out, Hugs Jennifer , Duke Beaufort November 19, 2022 at 10:10 AM Yes, these guns are not like our grandfather's guns. They are not for sport. Yet some companies make a mint selling them and they have convinced voters and the courts that they are protected. It's a sad state that will not change any time soon here.
