Full Flight

If I had my way
I would come back
as a droning dragonfly
strong and determined
or maybe a damselfly
dainty and graceful

Either way
I’d surf the sky
every hour of the day
and hover on and on
over drifting waterlilies
the whole night through

In the magic of moonlight
I’d circle with my awesome wings
knowing life is much too short
I'd never pause I’d never rest
I’d never want to sleep
