Trust ~ a mourning sparrow f o r s a k e n in the russet rush of monstrous myths, clouding the cashmere cusp of dawn’s delicate arms~ of love’s liquefied thorn. While I trace the wrinkled rays on the frozen side of the sun, where the moon, in silence, peeks to speak nothing but dialects of the forgotten ~ ash-laced memories forged in veins of weeping ice into the form of this black diamond heart, aching in nostalgia, refusing to break when your name ~ still dulcet ~ bruised the air like a fairytale lost in the wintry wilderness, as petals of promises wilt, painting a landscape of lament. Perhaps I reigned in the ruins ~ an unthawed queen, gliding glacier dunes, played like a pawn, sculpted in life’s illusions. I’ve tasted the flames of Cupid’s frost-kissed arrows, while seeking comfort in checkered longing, within squares of solitude… Now I hide honesty behind chained chambers of a kingdom unmoved by jest or foolish games. They know not the storm within me, that weighs heavier than the crestfallen sparks mimicking snow-glazed heartbeats. Yet I know what I knew was never reliable ~ imprisoned in gold and pearls, threatening the throne, as if destiny drew no other design for the ones who sit beneath storms, singing tunes of tornadoes, wishing someday rainbow arcs would shed their fog, drip tangerine tones of lucid lilac and carnation clarity ~ O heed these unspoken pleas...

Dear Ink Empress, I wanted to comment on this poem earlier but time doesn't always allow, but if I were to note each line that impressed me with this truly impressive write I would simply be copying it word for word and reciting it back to you, I will read these verses for years to come, your poem is pure perfection and a worthy winner, a belated congratulations and an absolute favourite for me, I'm really looking forward to reading more of your work. "ash laced memories forged in veins of weeping ice..." that's skilfully vivid! "While seeking comfort in checkered longing, in squares of solitude..." your conflictions are soo vibrant, oft brilliant Poetess. "Carnation clarity", carnations are quite varied and beautiful, and in this context enlightening. Your plea is a power in disguise...J.A.B.

IE, sounds like our unthawed queen is looking for something. Seems to have been trapped on a chess board and confined to the squares there. Hope she finds what she is seeking. That would be a relief and why not have it happen. I am always the optimist when it comes to personal development and joy. Hope you have it too, of course. Smiles!

Why should I wax eloquent on the power of your poetry! It speaks for itself. From where do you get all these metaphors, I keep wondering. "They know not the storm within me, that weighs heavier than the crestfallen sparks mimicking snow-glazed heartbeats." Though there is such a storm raging in you, you hope to see rainbow arcs appearing in the sky once the turmoil subsides. Beneath tornadoes, believe that there is calm. First rate poetry, dear friend.

Dearest Inky your poetry always flows with such vivid emotion, and this piece is no exception. The imagery of trust as a 'mourning sparrow' and a 'black diamond heart' is just beautifully haunting. I love how you weave fragility and strength into every line, balancing nostalgia with resilience. The way you capture longing and guarded hope is simply breathtaking. Another stunning piece that lingers long after the last line...Love and Hugs

My dearest poetess friend Ink, this is an outstanding poem that delves into issues of emotional resilience, forgiveness, and the complex relationship between the individual and the cosmos. It considers the vulnerability of human emotions as well as the desire for greater knowledge and compassion in the face of adversity. The theme also includes sentiments of yearning, reflection, and the interplay of light and darkness inside one's soul. It depicts a journey of self-discovery and healing, highlighting the significance of purpose, empathy, and the transcendence of love. Best wishes for the tournament and many wonderful vibrations thrown your way.  The poem utilizes rich and powerful imagery, as well as words that convey both beauty and fragility. Phrases like "iridescence of a Swarovski swan" and "violet veil that veils the glaring darkness" generate stark visual contrasts while conveying complex emotions. Best of luck in the contest, and warm hugs.
