Frosty Morning

Cold, frigid morning.

Sun beams down on frosty leaves.

Birds ignore the chill.

Beneath the carpet of leaves

They forage for breakfast.

Good way to describe the birds and their activities in the fall.

These winged angels of nature are a lot more hardy that we think, and they are just a joy to watch. We always put out our old bread biscuits for the birds. Nice Tanka Francine >> James :)

Always wondered how the birds survive when temperatures drop, Francine. Brilliant imagery in your fall tanka. Wishing you success in the contest! Love, Carolyn
