From the Underside (Chair Speak Limericks)

Why is it you never show me your face?
My feelings are hurt, so you I’ll replace!
Find another on which to pounce
Each time your team takes a bad bounce
The damage you’ve done cannot be erased

Even my fine leather is marred with grooves
From all your fanatic football fan moves
Get off your duff, I must rebuff
You’ve made my lining far too rough
Each time you move, I hope the team will lose

I have already called a moving van
To transport me to a gentler land
Where people of grace sip green tea
     Pontificating times that be
By dawn in my place you’ll find the trash can

How do you know I wasn't talking about you in a beauty past? How many limericks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop? Three!

Carolyn, GREAT humor here! I was thinking it should have been in that chair contest I missed out on from last year! And hopefully one day, I'll have time to review past winners of the many contests here! LUv, andrea

I'M STILL LAUGHING! Carolyn. What a hoot! I've never had any luck with writing Limericks. I wrote one only and someone advised we it was incorrect. You have mastered it. Maybe in the New year I will give it another try. Also, I wish to thank you for all your kind comments and support over the last year. Best wishes to you in the New Year. Love, Lainie.

Yes! I must examine my lazy boy for those grooves you speak of. Speaking of trash cans - I have relegated the Detroit Lions to a large trash can and this ages ago. The green tea is what I ought to be drinking, but I'm a coffee nut. BIG LOVE, daver

Great entry! Gave me a much needed laugh this morning. Thank you so much for your kind words, and I'm so sorry for the loss of your father. My stepfather is still with us, but probably not for much longer. He has terrible trouble communicating and walking, and it's heartbreaking. He's been such a wonderful father to me through the years, and I feel so sad, frustrated and helpless as I watch him slip away. ~Juliane

my dear friend you are definitely in a limerick mood and you have the talent for it for sure, a delightful read and i too now face my chair in a different light as to what it might say when I move, if mine decides to leave I hope I notice before I find my bottom side stuck in a can..I enjoyed this one so much,,Blessings..Cecil
